Sensei Rox Deeming

Club Coach & Licencing Officer

Rox Deeming has been training in Wado Karate for 6 years and holds the grade of 1st Dan. Rox is the Association Licencing officer and Association Level 1 coach. She coaches at all Sakura Clubs and runs the Bilston Karate Club.

Wado Experience

Rox began her Karate training with Daughters Charlie and Sophie at Sakura Dojo in Wednesfield.  

During 2013-2017 Rox trained with Sakagami Sensei at the Wado Aiwakai Karate-do Federation monthly way to excellence courses in Alfreton, Derby. Rox has also trained at many training courses over the past 6 years including the Wadokai England training sessions and the Barmouth training camp with Sakagami Sensei and Nukina Sensei.

Despite having four children and one grandchild Rox has continuously trained four times per week at Sakura. This commitment to her personal progress and through hard training, perseverance and maintaining a correct attitude has seen her advance from student to Black Belt and coach.

Sakura Duties

Rox has trained with many different instructors from around the world and has a thirst for Karate knowledge.

She has used his knowledge to develop a more contemporary and progressive approach to teaching. 

Aside from instructing at Sakura clubs on a weekly basis she assists in the day to day management of the Association, club gradings and coaches at competitions. Rox is also the association Secretary and First aid officer.

She is an EKF (English Karate Federation NGB) accredited coach and an association Kata Judge.

Work and Qualifications

Before Sakura Rox had some interesting roles working as a voluntary Class room assistant during 2001-2007, a tenants association secretary from 2002-2006 and at the Wolverhampton Crown Court 1996-1997.

Rox has qualifications in Safeguarding, First Aid, Literacy & Support and a Bed (Hons) in Primary Education. She has used her experience as a Primary teacher to develop her own style of Karate teaching at Sakura.

Rox's proudest personal moments are passing her Degree and her black belt both achieved as an adult. She hopes this inspires her children to achieve great things in their lives and proves anything can be achieved in life with perseverance and good attitude.

Present Day and Family

Sakura are very proud to have three generations of Rox's family currently training at the Association; Rox, her daughter Sophie a senior club student and squad member, grandson Oliver a member of our little lions class.

Rox supports many sports including football, rugby, tennis and enjoys reading and watching fantasy films.
