Sakura Karate Association is a collective group of Karate clubs in the West Midlands run by Sensei's; Becky, Mark & Emmy Knight. The first club, Sakura Karate Academy, was founded in 2008 at St Chads Parish Church in Bilston.
Although Sakura clubs practise traditional Karate, a contemporary and progressive approach is taken that also incorporates competition and reality based self defence training. Wado Ryu, Shotokan and Shito Ryu traditional styles of Karate are taught at our clubs.
Our Karate Association is directly affiliated to the National Governing Body for England - English Karate Federation.
A primary goal of Sakura Karate Association is to provide an environment that will allow the ability of its members to eventually exceed that of its senior instructors.
Karate provides its practitioners with a safe and healthy means of learning how to protect themselves. Shown to improve fitness, flexibility, agility, concentration, confidence, self-awareness as well as mental and spiritual development, Karate is a combination of kicking, punching, striking and blocking techniques developed in Japan. Karate is universally recognised as one of the most comprehensive of all the Martial Arts and is ideally suited to combat the stresses of modern living. Karate is also an exciting sport practised worldwide.
Appealing to men, women and children, Karate really is for everyone. At Sakura we cater to a wide range of individuals and families, offering extensive classes for all ages and levels of ability. Our students currently range from first time beginners to experienced club instructors and international competitors.
Sakura believes that there is no reason why Karate cannot help inspire self-esteem and confidence in everyone. We also involve ourselves in numerous school and community based projects using the discipline of Karate as a tool to target and rehabilitate young people at risk of exclusion and anti-social behaviour in disadvantaged areas.

Excellent karate club and association. My son has had previous bad experiences at other karate clubs. He didn't want to give up on his karate, we found WBBA he has been made to feel welcome by all the Sensei's and everyone associated with the club. You can see his confidence and knowledge growing in him. Highly recommended for children and adults to train with this club and association nothing but positive experiences from all involved with WBBA.

Our son has been attending the little lions class at this karate club for around 4 months now, and we have been nothing but impressed. The teaching staff are both friendly, approachable and disciplined, ensuring the children are having lots of fun but learning the respect elements required in this sport. Our son really looks forward to his sessions and growing in confidence. Thank you so much for all your hard work and dedication.

My son has been attending this club for just over 3 years. The quality of the teaching is outstanding, very well family run club. Reams and reams of experience and able to bring out the best in each individual child. Provides one to one private classes, experience of competitions and weekly lessons for all ages from 18months+

Our boys have been going to the Portobello club since it started, and they have developed so much over the last couple of years with fantastic support, training and hard work from not only themselves but the Sensai's also! They continue to push and support our boys to succeed in all area's. The encouragement that they receive each lesson cannot be put into words!.. Highly recommended

The best Karate Academy around! My daughter absolutely loves going to her lessons, they give the kids a full packed lesson and they come out knowing so much. The staff are so lovely and helpful, and they offer so much support, effort and one to one to each child individually too.
Would highly recommend this academy if your looking to learn Karate!

I cannot recommend this karate club enough, our boys love going there. The facilities are excellent, lessons are well planned and the instructors really do an amazing job. Great for building confidence, respect, discipline, fitness levels and above all for learning self defence. Thank you Sakura.

An excellent Karate club that really, really does put the children first. Wonderful tuition in a serious but friendly atmosphere. The number of England team members they produce is testament to their teaching.

Great place for all ages kids and adults alike to come learn the martial art of karate, brilliant dedicated instructor's and other higher belt students including England squad members helping the younger ones to achieve their goals.
